
Immigration was a very important time in Brazil and in the whole world as well. This time of immigration was a very symbolizing that time in which diverse civilizations moved to Brazil with the intention to find a new and successive life that provided each family with more comfort and gave them a better living condition. Affirming that immigration has being going on since 1530, when the Portuguese came to Brazil with the intention to start plantations of sugar cane. Even though the Portuguese came, the immigration in Brazil started exactly in the year of 1818. In this period, the immigrants who were not Portuguese started approaching Brazil in the regency of D. João VI. Since Brazil had an enormous area at that time for the creation of coffee plantations; immigration had a great importance to the development of the country in XIX century.
In search of better and new chances, the Swiss came in 1819 and were installed in Rio De Janeiro. After that, the Germans arrived in the year of 1824, the Germans reported to Rio Grande Do Sul where they settled in the areas of New Hamburg, Leopoldo, Santa Catarina, Blumenau, Joinville and Brusque. After a period of time, the Slavs who had come from the Ukraine and Poland had habited Paraná. Soon after, the Turks and Arabs concentrated the Amazônia, later the Italians of Venice, Genova, Calábria, and Lombardia headed for São Paulo.
Although many emigrants that came from diverse nationalities, the Portuguese with certainty, had the largest number of habitants in Brazil since the Independence of Brazil.
